“On Elton John’s birthday, Marc Bolan sent him a life size cardboard cut out of himself with the words “Happy birthday Elton, Love Marc” emblazoned across the front. Marc thought this was amazingly funny until his own birthday when a huge removal van arrived carrying a 32 foot high cardboard cut-out of Elton, with the words “Happy Birthday Marc, thanks for your little card, Love Elton.
